How do you obtain data on freight businesses?We source the majority of our data directly from two organizations within the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT): the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

How many company profiles does CarrierOK have?CarrierOK maintains profiles on approximately 4 million freight businesses registered with the FMCSA. While the majority of these profiles are for carriers, we also regularly update profiles for freight forwarding and freight brokerage companies.

How often are company profiles updated?We update our database with new information from the FMCSA through an automated process. To provide our members with the freshest data in the industry, we run this process multiple times a day. Please note that the FMCSA may not provide daily updates for all data, which means some information may only be available on a weekly or monthly basis.

Do you provide reputation-based reports like other platforms?No, CarrierOK does not offer reputation-based reports. Feedback from hundreds of industry professionals has shown that these reports can often be biased, unfairly penalizing hardworking carriers based on subjective experiences rather than concrete data. They also tend to focus on past events, which don't always predict future risk. At CarrierOK, we take a more advanced, data-driven approach. By analyzing over 20 years of historical data, we identify patterns to anticipate potential fraud and spotlight trustworthy, high-quality partners. We also collaborate with large brokerages and factoring companies that provide documented evidence of fraudulent activity, further refining our risk analysis. Our goal is to deliver reliable, predictive insights based on objective data, not opinions.

How is the Safety Score determined?The Safety Score is a comprehensive measure of a carrier's overall safety performance. It considers SMS BASIC measures and safety ratings to quickly communicate a carrier's safe operating performance relative to their peer group. How is the Risk Score determined?The Risk Score is determined by analyzing key aspects of a company's operating history and compares them against their peer group in the entire FMCSA database, using leading data science principles. The Risk Score provides a quick assessment and prediction of the risk associated with working with a particular company. How do I cancel my membership?To cancel your membership, please follow these steps: Log in to your account. Click on your account name or avatar in the upper right-hand corner of the screen to access the account menu. Select "My Subscriptions" from the dropdown menu. On the My Subscriptions page, you will see a list of your active subscriptions. Find the subscription you wish to cancel and click on the arrow. Follow the prompts to cancel your subscription.
